Activities
Troop 1970 is all about activities - we try and put together a campout/outing once a month which the Troop chooses at the beginning of the year - whether it is white water rafting in PA, or biking down a mountain alongside a historic train - Troop 1970 aims to bring fun and adventure to all members of the Troop!

Here are just a few of the fun activities we have done . . .
Requirements Campouts
Every so often, we do a requirements campout - so the Scouts can work on specific merit badge/rank requirements and earn camping nights.

Summer Camp
Summer Camp is for all scouts - we spend a week at a BSA camp where scouts can earn merit badges, do fun activities, and generally "get back to nature" with their Troop friends.

High Adventure Camping
One week every summer, we take our scouts 14 years and up on a high adventure trip to locations such as Sea Base in the Keys, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Northern Tier in Minnesota, or The Summit in West Virginian for a week of adventures that are sure to test the scouting knowledge while giving them a fantastic adventure.

Cycling Campout
We headed out for a great weekend of camping and cycling in the fall of '23, during which the scouts covered 27 miles on their bikes.

Ski Trips
We didn't camp out, but we did enjoy our time on the slopes of Massenutten this year.

And More
Troop 1970 tries to make our program full of adventure with campouts, including hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, the beach, and more.
