There are multiples pathways to earning merit badges.

Troop 1970

We provide our own merit badge courses free of cost, with a focus on Eagle Scout required badges.

Lake Fairfax Scout Programs

BSA merit badges are offered that fulfill most badge requirements. Certified Merit Badge Counselors work with the scout to fulfill the remainder of the badge activities.

Fairfax County Park Authority

Fairfax County parks are the perfect place to learn Scouting skills. Programs meet the requirements of many scouting organizations and are open to all residents regardless of scout affiliation.

Summer Camp

We attend an annual BSA summer camp that centers around Merit Badge programs.
